AUSTRALIEN OPEN CHAMPION RYBAKINA SET FOR BAD HOMBURG

Elena Rybakina is coming to the Bad Homburg Open powered by Solarwatt! The World No. 2 will be the top seed at the WTA 500 boutique tournament, meaning that three of the four reigning Grand Slam champions will compete in the Kurpark this summer. A longside Australian Open champion Rybakina, Wimbledon champion Iga Swiatek and newly crowned French Open champion Mirra Andreeva have already confirmed their participation.

Rybakina lifted the trophy in Melbourne earlier this year, capturing the second Grand Slam title of her career following her Wimbledon triumph in 2022. Standing at 1.84 metres tall, the Kazakh star is renowned for her powerful serve and tactical intelligence. In addition to Rybakina, Swiatek and Andreeva, fellow Grand Slam champions Naomi Osaka and wildcard recipient Venus Williams – the legendary seven-time Grand Slam champion and five-time Wimbledon singles winner – will also be part of the field.

Kerber Praises Andreeva Ahead of Wimbledon

The newest member of the Grand Slam champions’ circle is Mirra Andreeva. The 19-year-old secured her maiden major title last Saturday by winning Roland Garros, becoming the youngest French Open champion since 1992.

“Despite her young age, she has already established herself among the very best players in the world. With her success in Paris, Mirra has taken the next major step in her career,” said Angelique Kerber, Sporting Director of the Bad Homburg Open powered by Solarwatt. “We are therefore especially delighted to welcome Mirra to the Kurpark. For our fans, it is a unique opportunity to see the reigning French Open champion live just before Wimbledon.”

Main Draw Cut-Off at World No. 30

Following her triumph at Roland Garros, Andreeva has also moved to the top of the Race to the WTA Finals standings, making her the most successful player of the 2026 season so far. Her sister Erika is also competing on the professional tour.

Alongside Andreeva, Rybakina and Swiatek, fellow Top 10 players Elina Svitolina and Karolina Muchova will also be among the contenders for the title in Bad Homburg. This year’s main draw cut-off stands at World No. 30, underlining the exceptional strength and depth of the tournament field.
