COUNTDOWN TO BAD HOMBURG OPEN IS ON!

The countdown is on: In just nine days, the ultimate Wimbledon warm-up begins at the historic Kurpark where, amongst others, six Top Ten players will compete at the Bad Homburg Open powered by Solarwatt (21 to 28 June) and will feature the strongest line-up to date for the fifth edition of the WTA 500 event.

Iga Swiatek: The current most successful Grand Slam winner also to take part

The entry list is headed by world No. 3, Jessica Pegula, and last year’s Wimbledon finalist, Jasmine Paolini (WTA No. 4). The 18-year-old shooting star, Mirra Andreeva (WTA No. 6), and the former number one, Iga Swiatek (WTA No. 7), who is currently the most successful active player on the Tour with a total of five Grand Slam titles, as well as Paula Badosa (WTA No. 9) and Emma Navarro (WTA No. 10), all intend to make a statement on their way to London.

Defending champion, Diana Shnaider (WTA No. 12), will be looking to repeat her 2024 triumph at the picturesque site of the TC Bad Homburg, while Olympic medallist, Belinda Bencic, will try to prevent just that.

The fact that the main draw cut of the official 2025 entry list is at world ranking position 29 proves how impressive the acceptance list is. By comparison: In 2023, it was still at position 75. For the first time, this season the Bad Homburg Open powered by Solarwatt is the most important tournament in the week prior to Wimbledon (30 June to 13 July).

Qualifying with former world number one Azarenka, Collins and Siegemund

Fans can also look forward to the currently three best German professionals: Eva Lys, who made it to the round of 16 at the Australian Open, and former Wimbledon semi-finalist, Tatjana Maria, are in the main draw thanks to two wildcards. This is also where Laura Siegemund, who received a wild card for the qualifying round, is aiming tobe.

World-class tennis is guaranteed – right from the first tournament day! In addition to Siegemund, the former number one Victoria Azarenka, two-time Australian Open champion, and Danielle Collins, 2022 Melbourne finalist, intend to qualify for the main draw.

Boris Becker and Andrea Petkovic: verbal exchange on Centre Court

Other renowned players, such as the former world number three, Maria Sakkari, as well as former Bad Homburg Open winner, Katerina Siniakova, will also have to qualify for the main draw first, which is telling.

Of course, icon, Boris Becker, and crowd favourite, Andrea Petkovic, are a must! Shortly prior to the 40th anniversary of his first Wimbledon victory in 1985, on 23 June (18:00 o’clock), Becker will exchange verbal volleys with Petkovic on the Spielbank Bad Homburg Centre Court. Since the beginning of the year, the two of them have been the hosts of the successful ‘Becker Petkovic’ podcast, which inspires, sparks debate and presents tennis from anew perspective.

Please note: Only day ticket holders will have exclusive access to Centre Court on 23 June(Monday) and therefore to the live podcast from 18:00 o’clock!

Side events programme presenting several highlights: renowned chef, Zehner, to serve up

This year, as always, visitors can look forward to a diverse events programme at the Baloise Park Village – including various theme days such as Kids Day (Monday, 23 June) and Clubs Day (Wednesday, 25 June), as well as a host of musical and culinary highlights.
