PEGULA, SWIATEK, PAOLINI & CO.: SIX TOP TEN PLAYERS TO BE IN BAD HOMBURG

Six TopTen players, six Grand Slam titles – along with Boris Becker and Andrea Petkovic on the Spielbank Bad Homburg Centre Court. Wimbledon flair and the best-ever starting field are guaranteed when the Bad Homburg Open powered by Solarwatt celebrates its fifth anniversary in style.

The entrylist is headed by world number three and last year's US Open finalist, Jessica Pegula, Wimbledon finalist, Jasmine Paolini (WTA No. 4), and four-time French Open champion and former number one, Iga Swiatek (WTA No. 5).

Shootingstar, Andreeva, counts on a Wimbledon winner as coach

Also competing at the historic Kurpark are Top Ten players such as 18-year-old, Mirra Andreeva (WTA No. 6), who won several titles including Indian Wells 2025, EmmaNavarro (WTA No. 9) and crowd favourite, Paula Badosa (WTA No. 10). Worth noting, Andreeva has a Wimbledon champion as her coach in her box: Conchita Martinez, who triumphed on the sacred grass in 1994.

Bad Homburg is the most important tournament in the week leading up to Wimbledon

Even defending champion, Diana Shnaider (WTA No. 12), one of the up-and-coming players on the WTA circuit, wants to make another statement by playing a successful tournament at the official Wimbledon warm-up. For the first time, the fifth edition of the Bad Homburg powered by Solarwatt event will be the most important tournament in the week prior to the grass-court classic. The most significant tennis tournament in the world starts on 30 June at ChurchRoad in London, just two days after the final at the Kurpark.

Olympic medallist Bencic and Kenin to participate

German number one, Eva Lys, and Olympic medallist, Belinda Bencic, also intend to gain confidence for the third Grand Slam event of the year on the picturesque site of the TC BadHomburg. The 2020 Australian Open winner, Sofia Kenin, however, will have to make it through the qualifying round to earn a spot in the main draw.

Maindraw cut at world no. 29 – Top-level matches from day one

The fact that the 2025 main draw cut is at world ranking position 29 (2023: position 75)proves how strong the draw is. Therefore, high-level and exciting matches are guaranteed from day one of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Boris Becker and Andrea Petkovic intend to provide a double dose of quick wit. Shortly prior to the 40th anniversary of his first Wimbledon victory in1985, on 23 June (Monday at 18:00 o’clock), Boris Becker will exchange volleys with Andrea Petkovic on the Spielbank Bad Homburg Centre Court.

At least verbally, because the two of them are the hosts of the successful ‘Becker Petkovic’ podcast, which inspires, sparks debate and presents tennis from anew perspective.
